Fujairah, December 29 / WAM / The Fujairah International Show Jumping Championship 2024 competitions, which were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, concluded today over three days in the historic Fujairah Fort Square, amid a large audience presence and wide interest from fans. His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Fujairah Equestrian Championships, confirmed that the championship was the result of the continuous support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, noting that His Highness’s directives and support for the event contributed to strengthening the presence of the Emirate of Fujairah as a leading global destination in International equestrian competitions.
He explained that the tournament, in its international version this year, achieved great successes at the level of organization and participation, and witnessed exciting competitions that brought together an elite group of riders from various horse stables from inside and outside the country. The Belgian rider, Constant Van Paschen, was crowned the Longines Grand Prix at the conclusion of the Fujairah International Show Jumping Championship in the “three-star” category, which took place at the conclusion of the 2024 Fujairah Equestrian Championships.
The International Show Jumping Championship, organized by Fujairah for the first time, included 9 competitions, all three-star, and their competitions were held over 3 days, becoming the last international show jumping event in the Emirates in the year 2024.
The Grand Prix competition came with the specifications of a single round with a round for differentiation, and its track was designed with 13 obstacles requiring each participant to perform 16 jumps over obstacles of 150 cm height. The second place award was won by the jockey Abdul Rakhmon Abdullayev, from Uzbekistan, the second participant in the distinction round with the horse “Kabalon” (11 years old), and he finished the distinction round in a time of 39.85 seconds, followed by his compatriot Bekzod Kurbanov, participant No. (1) in the distinction round with The horse, “Mats VJ” (12 years old), completed the round in a time of 39.88 seconds, three hundredths of a second behind his owner. The leader of the championship, the Belgian jockey Constant Van, took the lead in the second competition on the closing day (Sunday) of the middle category, with the specifications of the two stages, and the course was designed with hurdles that reached a height of 135 cm, and 41 male and female riders accepted her challenges, 8 of whom completed the two stages without error, and “Constant Van” snatched, Participant No. (33) accompanied by his horse “Gantorano” won the first place award, recording the best times in the second stage without error and reaching 28.67 seconds, and the German horsewoman Sophie Henners, participant No. (11) accompanied by the horse “Noraya 3”, finished the second stage in a competitive time of 28.85 seconds, and achieved the temporary lead until the leader participated and displaced her to occupy second place, and be crowned with his prize, which is the position that came Also at the expense of the Syrian horsewoman Aya Hamsho, Participation No. (10) accompanied by the horse “Emogi Hero”, who completed the second stage in a time of 28.92 seconds, which won her the temporary lead and crowned the female rider Aya with the third place award.
The first competition on the closing day was held according to the specifications of the two stages in the junior category, and its course was designed with barriers reaching a height of 115 cm, and 54 male and female riders competed in it, 11 of whom completed the two stages without error.
The Canadian rider, Setaria Sadeghi, Participation No. (47), concluded her successful participation in the 3-star tournament by winning the first place award with the horse “Alessi”, after she succeeded in breaking the best times at that time and recording a fast time in the second stage, amounting to (24.18) seconds, on Calculating the result of our young knight, Saleh Mufarrej Al-Karbi, Participant No. (15), who finished the second stage in a time of 24.93 seconds, earning him the temporary lead until the leader participates. He was crowned with the second place award, while the third place award was won by the young Syrian rider, Osama Muhammad Al-Zubaibi, participant No. (38), accompanied by the horse “Chanel Boy.” He completed the second stage in a time of 26.54 seconds.
