المملكة: Urgent: “Health” raids maternity wards to deter unjustified caesarean section practices
The Ministry of Health announced the launch of monitoring campaigns on Caesarean sections, and reducing unjustified medical practices.
Raising the readiness of health departments
It indicated that the campaign aims to raise the readiness of health departments, and enhance mothers’ awareness of their rights during the birth period, in addition to ensuring that health facilities adhere to approved regulatory procedures.
The Ministry of Health stressed the importance of enabling mothers to know their rights, which include obtaining a clear explanation of the health condition and medical procedures, and the necessity of obtaining written consent before any unauthorized intervention. Emergency, in addition to providing a qualified medical team to follow up on the birth.
The Ministry called on everyone to contact “937” to inquire or report any observations or violations, stressing its continued keenness to improve the quality of health services and enhance patient safety in the Kingdom.
