Washington, March 27 / WAM / The UAE has affirmed its commitment to working with its partners around the world to build a more comprehensive, just and sustainable digital future for children, where education is a bridge to opportunities, and technology is a tool for empowering people and expanding the horizons of future generations, based on the wise leadership’s belief that the true wealth of nations lies in creative minds capable of innovation and shaping the future.

This came in the UAE’s speech delivered by Her Highness Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as part of the activities of the global summit of the “Promoting the Future Together” initiative, which was hosted in Washington, DC, on March 24 and 25.

The summit, launched by the First Lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, witnessed the participation of leaders from 45 countries and 28 of the most important global technology companies, with the aim of establishing a global alliance that seeks to protect the prosperity of children and enhance their empowerment with the tools of digital progress through education and technology.

The UAE’s participation in the “Promoting the Future Together” summit comes to consolidate its global leadership in formulating digital policies, and confirms its role as an active partner in international alliances aimed at ensuring the well-being of future generations.

Her Highness Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif headed the UAE delegation to the summit, which included Her Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, Talal Al Qaisi, CEO of Core42, and Nour El Din Hadi, CEO of Base71, where the delegation actively participated in high-level discussions during the summit’s work.

At the beginning of a speech she delivered during the second day of the summit, Her Highness Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif conveyed the greetings of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and her special appreciation to First Lady Melania Trump for her continued support of the “Strengthening the Future Together” initiative.

Her Highness stressed that the “Strengthening the Future Together” initiative embodies a great awareness that the future of the world will not be shaped in laboratories alone, but in the decisions we make today for the sake of our children,” stressing that this meeting is not limited to technology as a goal, but rather lies in directing it to be a tool for good and empowerment, and a bridge towards a more just and sustainable future that preserves the rights of future generations in a safe digital world.

Her Highness added: 2026 has been declared the Year of the Family in the UAE, and in this regard, we affirm that building the future of children in the digital age begins with empowering the family itself, as the primary incubator of awareness and values, and the guarantor of our children’s balance between technological openness and their solid identity.

Her Highness pointed to the interest of the UAE’s wise leadership in the digital lives of children, which reflects a forward-looking vision that recognizes that education and technology are two essential pillars for preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and skills, and capable of thriving with confidence in a rapidly transforming world, while preserving its value system and adherence to its cultural roots.

Her Highness highlighted the Emirati approach based on investing in people, by adopting an integrated vision linking education, technology and innovation, and harnessing artificial intelligence techniques to develop the educational system and build the capabilities of future generations, stressing the importance of strengthening international cooperation to make digital knowledge available to all, develop future skills, and build effective partnerships between governments, the private sector and educational institutions, in a way that ensures a more just and sustainable digital future.

Her Highness added: “The UAE’s participation in the summit is an extension of a well-established strategic relationship with the United States of America, based on cooperation in all fields, especially innovation, education and technology, which enhances the opportunities for building a more balanced global model that puts people at the heart of digital transformation.” Her Highness praised the vision led by Mrs. Melania Trump through this initiative, which confirms that the future of children in this age has become a joint international responsibility that requires the convergence of the efforts of governments and technology institutions.

Her Highness Sheikha Al Yazya bint Saif indicated that building the desired digital future requires close international cooperation based on three basic principles: the first is making digital knowledge available fairly to every child, the second is developing future skills such as critical thinking and creativity, and the third is strengthening partnerships between governments and the private sector. To ensure that technology remains a tool for human empowerment and expanding vision, not a source of inequality.

Her Highness concluded her speech by emphasizing that true technology is what opens the door wide for a person to achieve his full potential, noting that the shape of societies in the coming decades will be determined based on the extent of our success today in placing children at the heart of every educational policy and every technological innovation.

The “Promoting the Future Together Summit” is an international alliance that includes countries whose visions are aligned in empowering children through education and technology. The First Lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, presented her vision for establishing this alliance during the eightieth session of the United Nations General Assembly.
