Emirates Astronomy monitors the most prominent 16 lunar astronomical events during 2025

Sharjah, December 30 / WAM / The Emirates Astronomy Society monitored the 16 most prominent astronomical events that the Earth will witness during the next year 2025, the most prominent of which are the conjunction of the Moon, Venus and Saturn (after sunset) on January 3, and the moon’s occultation of Saturn (after sunset) on January 4. While the full moon will obscure Mars (after sunset) on January 13 and 14.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors and member of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy, explained in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the first of February will witness the crescent’s approach to the planet Venus (after sunset), while the conjunction between the crescent and the planet will occur on March 2. Venus (after sunset), and on March 13 and 14 (night), the Earth will witness a total lunar eclipse, the “blood moon,” followed by a partial solar eclipse on March 29.
Al-Jarwan continued that June 22 will witness a conjunction between the crescent, Venus, and the Pleiades (before sunrise), while on July 22 another conjunction will occur between the crescent, Venus, and Jupiter (before sunrise), and on August 19 and 20, the crescent will approach Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury (before sunrise). While a second total lunar eclipse will occur on September 7, and on September 19 the crescent will also approach the luminous planet Venus (Leo’s heart). (before sunrise), followed by a second partial solar eclipse on September 21.
He pointed out that October 6 will witness the phenomenon of the Harvest Moon (the full moon closest to the autumnal solar equinox) (after sunset), and on November 5 the phenomenon of the closest giant moon since 2019 will be observed (after sunset), so astronomical events will conclude on December 4 with the Cold Moon.
