"Zayed Higher School for People of Determination" The year 2024 is an exceptional journey in empowerment and community integration
Abu Dhabi, December 31 / WAM / During its journey in 2024, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination took successful steps in the field of care and rehabilitation of various categories of people of determination, achieving the slogan “Together towards excellence and empowerment,” and achieved qualitative leaps in the services it provides to about 25,000 beneficiaries. 1,870 students are enrolled in its 19 care and rehabilitation centers and departments spread throughout the emirate, confirming its pioneering role. In empowering and integrating people of determination into Emirati society.
These efforts come within the vision of the UAE, which places the well-being and rights of people of determination at the top of its priorities.
The Foundation continued its efforts to integrate and empower people of determination into the labor market by providing jobs for 80 people of determination through its partnerships with public and private sector institutions. 24 entities and companies were honored during the World Rehabilitation Conference 2024 in appreciation of their support of the Foundation’s efforts to employ people of determination. The Foundation also enabled 200 of its members. In its production projects, it enrolled 400 students with mental disabilities and autism to the second level work readiness certificate.
The Foundation, in cooperation with the Ural Federal University in the Russian Federation, launched the Emirati-Russian Psychology Dictionary, and in this context, it launched an electronic platform in cooperation with the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies to convert it into a digital form and store it in approved databases for the Foundation. It aims to register the dictionary in professional international publishing bodies such as UNESCO and international library forums while ensuring compatibility with artificial intelligence engines “CHATGPT”. The Foundation also launched the “Dictionary of Psychology for Scientific Research” award within the dictionary project.
The Foundation launched the first interactive showroom of its kind in the Middle East, at the headquarters of its Innovation Center in the Al Bahia area in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the “Topland” company.
The organization won first place in providing its services to customers and beneficiaries through the government communication center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Zayed Higher participated with its own pavilion in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, to display the products of working hands of people of determination, and participated in the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, to display the capabilities and talents of its members, and provide examples of the products of vocational rehabilitation workshops that were made by their own hands, in addition to participating in the Emirates campaign “With You.” “Oh Lebanon.”
The Foundation organized the World Rehabilitation Conference 2024 for the first time in the Middle East under the slogan “Work and Employment,” and the “Abu Dhabi Declaration for People of Determination” was adopted.
It also organized the 12th session of the International Conference on Developments in Autism Research, “Challenges and Solutions,” in cooperation and coordination with ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, and Lotus Holistics Abu Dhabi Group, which witnessed the launch of the first peer-reviewed scientific journal on autism bearing the conference title, “International Journal of Autism Challenges and Solutions.” .
The Foundation hosted the 34th European-Arab Medical Congress at its headquarters for the first time in the history of the conference, in cooperation with the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies of the Emirates Science and Research Foundation, the European Medical Association and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Office, and in partnership with the Union of Arab Doctors in Europe. The Foundation expanded into concluding strategic partnerships, reaching 68 partnerships that varied between local, regional and international, with the aim of improving the lives of people of determination and enabling them to achieve their full potential, and cooperating in areas of common interest, for the benefit of its members.
Zayed Higher launched the assessment and diagnosis service to evaluate cases at Al Dhanna Hospital in the city of Al Dhanna in the Al Dhafra region, in cooperation and coordination with ADNOC, in addition to training 7 specialists on the mechanisms, policies and methods of diagnosis and evaluation at the institution.
The Foundation participated in local and international events to promote the integration of people of determination, including the International Expo 2024 People of Determination Exhibition in Dubai.
The Foundation’s champions and members in its affiliated sports clubs in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra also participated in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games competitions, achieving achievements, in addition to local and regional sports participations.
The Foundation’s efforts received international appreciation, as it hosted the second expanded meeting to link cooperation in the field of disability between the People’s Republic of China and the Arab countries on the sidelines of the World Rehabilitation Conference 2024, organized by the Foundation in cooperation with the Chinese Federation for Persons with Disabilities within the Belt and Road Initiative entitled
“Enhancing practical cooperation for comprehensive development.”
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Foundation, received from Dr. Joseph Murray, President of the World Organization of the Deaf, the banner of organizing and hosting the International Conference of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) at its twentieth session in 2027 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the first time in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region, during Celebration at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba area.
In cooperation between Zayed Higher Education and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, and under the sponsorship of “ADQ Holding”, a new phase of the “Bridges of Hope Holding” program was launched to support and empower people with abilities and determination in various governorates of Egypt.
The program aims to provide free integrated services to these groups in 60 of the Ministry’s People of Determination centers and provide internet service to the centers, in addition to providing internet services to 68 centers that were previously completed in the first phase, while the second phase aims to focus on early intervention programs to support children in the age stages. The Foundation implemented a series of medical awareness convoys in the governorates of Egypt, sponsored by ADQ Holding, as part of the Holding’s Bridges of Hope program initiative.
The Foundation opened a new integrated center specialized in evaluating cases and providing support and care to injured Palestinians, in cooperation and coordination with the Emirates Humanitarian City at the city’s headquarters, while it launched the “Mars” program to train health care graduates in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and empower national cadres.
The percentage of Emiratisation in executive and supervisory positions in Zayed Olaya reached 100% of the organisation’s staff.
