Emirates SkyCargo adds Copenhagen to its network

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of the largest international air carrier in the world, announced the operation of a weekly freighter aircraft dedicated to Copenhagen Airport, in response to the increasing demand from Denmark, which contributes to increasing the network of destinations served by Emirates freighter aircraft to 36 destinations.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the Boeing 777 cargo plane will contribute to increasing the capacity provided to Emirates Airlines customers, by allocating about 85 tons of cargo from Copenhagen and neighboring countries, including Norway and Sweden, after it was previously provided via aircraft capacity. Passengers.

Emirates SkyCargo recorded significant growth in the volume of shipments from Denmark by more than 20% in the last fiscal year, driven largely by pharmaceutical shipments.

Thanks to its thriving bioscience production industry and flexible cold chain infrastructure, Copenhagen serves as a pharmaceutical logistics hub in Northern Europe.

The increased capabilities, combined with Emirates SkyCargo’s fit-for-purpose pharmaceutical product portfolio and its extensive global network, will support more pharmaceutical exports from Denmark.

In addition to enhancing pharmaceutical shipments, Emirates Sky Cargo will provide customized solutions for transporting goods across its multiple product range. From general cargo to perishable items that are affected by temperature, such as seafood, Emirates Sky Cargo is working to transport goods from Copenhagen to… world quickly, efficiently and reliably.

Mette Jensen, Director of Cargo at Emirates SkyCargo in the Scandinavia region, said: “Demand has been strong throughout Scandinavia, with particular growth in Copenhagen, and we expect this to continue in the next fiscal year and beyond.”

She added: “Enhancing our operations to Copenhagen with a dedicated cargo aircraft ensures our ability to meet current demand and support our customers in reaching a greater number of markets around the world.”
