More than 1,000 birds and 800 falconers participated in the Fazza Falconry Championship

Dubai, 11 February / WAM / The Fazza Falcon Championship, affiliated with the Fazza Championships Department, was concluded at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival in the Al Ashoushu area on Dubai Al Ain Road, after the final competitions that were full of competition, with the high level of falconers and birds participating, to excel in this ancient event at the level of falconry sports.
The final rounds of the tournament witnessed the participation of 49 birds, who qualified through qualifying out of more than 1,000 birds, in the presence of more than 800 falconers.
Rashid Hareb Al-Khasouni, Director of the Fazza Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, confirmed that the Fazza Hadad Championship, in its current edition, achieved remarkable success at various levels, whether in terms of the volume of participation, the high technical level, and the strong pace of competition that distinguished the rounds.
He explained that the wide attendance of participants from different age groups reflects the growing community interest in traditional sports, and confirms the continuity of momentum enjoyed by the tournament year after year.
He added that the organizing committee was keen this season to employ the latest technologies in the arbitration system, in addition to developing live broadcast mechanisms for the tournament’s activities, which contributed to providing an integrated experience for participants and the public alike, noting that the large participation of the people of the Emirates embodies a collective awareness of the importance of preserving and preserving heritage, as it is a basic pillar of national identity.
He added that the great interaction this edition witnessed from participants and followers is a clear indication of the success of the organizational efforts, stressing the constant endeavor to provide the best and advance the tournament in every session.
Al-Khasouni expressed his confidence that the Fazza Threat Championship will continue its successful journey, consolidating its position as one of the most prominent events that celebrates Emirati heritage and enhances its presence in society.
Falconry is considered one of the most prominent traditional sports in the UAE and the Arabian Gulf region, as it is based on a precise competition between falcons of various categories and carrier pigeons, where the falcon is required to show its speed and accuracy in hunting under the supervision of a specialized jury, in a test that reflects the falconers’ skills and their ability to prepare their birds according to the highest technical standards.
