المملكة: Education in the Kingdom…unique stories and inspiring successes of 292 schools

Within the framework of the efforts of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission aimed at improving public, private and international public education schools through the “National Program for School Evaluation, Classification and Accreditation”, unique stories and inspiring successes emerge for 292 schools in the Kingdom.
The excellence of 292 schools in the Kingdom constituted an important milestone in the education process, and the beginning of a unique story to achieve further development and advancement of the educational system in the Kingdom.

Education in Saudi Arabia

This program was based on the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Human Capacity Development Programme, and in accordance with the Authority’s strategy towards building a high-impact Saudi model for quality in education and training, a world leader.
This is in addition to contributing to achieving national development and economic growth, aiming to diagnose the reality of all the Kingdom’s schools and measure and evaluate their performance to enable education and raise its quality.
The recently issued “National Register of School Excellence” highlighted in numbers the transformation journey, as the Authority, in integration with the Ministry of Education, completed 100% self-evaluation in all schools, including more than 24,000 schools.

Measuring educational performance in Saudi Arabia

It also completed the external evaluation in approximately 19,000 schools, 78 percent of the Kingdom’s schools, with the participation of more than 10 million students, teachers, and parents, and using many tools.

It included national tests to measure the educational performance of more than 1,500,000 students in all schools, resulting in more than 1,700,000 data units.
This evaluation brought about a radical shift in the work of schools towards enhancing the culture of quality, measurement, competitiveness and scorecards.

Developing school performance in Saudi Arabia

The “National Register of School Excellence” included the Authority’s vision and efforts to transform towards quality, and the most prominent pillars and directions in the National Program for School Evaluation, Classification and Accreditation, which leads to the sustainability of excellence and the development of school performance.
It also raises the quality of public education and improves its outcomes, celebrates distinguished schools as school models to be emulated, and summarizes the stories of some pioneers of school excellence, their journey to achieve this honor, and their inspiring success stories.

School calendar program

At the beginning of the last academic year 2023-2024, the Education and Training Evaluation Commission launched the school evaluation program and qualified independent evaluation specialists with experience and competence for it.
They visit the school and evaluate its school environment and teaching and learning processes, interview its administration and teachers, and monitor stakeholder views, data on students’ educational achievement and teachers’ performance.
They also issue a school evaluation report for the school in accordance with its approved school evaluation standards, which number (10) standards distributed over (4) areas: (school administration and leadership, teaching and learning, learning outcomes, and school environment) after reviewing and approving it.
