المملكة: Watch| The launch of Riyadh Metro trips to connect the east of the capital with its west with 5 new stations

This morning, Sunday, the first trips of the orange track of the Riyadh Metro, “Madinah Road Corridor”, with a length of 40.7 km, were launched, as the third and final stage of the plan to operate the train network, which provides high flow for users.
The operation included five stations: “Jeddah Road Station,” “Tuwaiq Station,” “Al-Douh Station,” “Haroun Al-Rashid Road Station,” and “Al-Naseem Station,” which is one of the transfer stations linking the orange route and the purple route.

The orange route extends east and west along Medina Road and Prince Saad bin Abdul Rahman I Road, and begins from the west near the Jeddah Expressway and ends east near the National Guard camp in Khashm Al-Aan.
The track rises mostly along the western part of Medina Road, then underground in a tunnel in the middle section of the track, generally on a slope along Prince Saad bin Abdul Rahman Road. This route includes 22 stations, including 20 substations and two interchange stations.

The network of routes covers most densely populated areas, government facilities, commercial, educational and health activities, and connects King Khalid International Airport, King Abdullah Financial Center, major universities, the city center and the public transportation centre.

The Riyadh Metro consists of 6 main lines linking various neighborhoods of the city over a length of 176 kilometers, at an estimated speed of 80 kilometers per hour, and includes 85 stations, including 8 main stations where a number of network paths meet, distributed between 34 overhead stations and 47 underground stations to form a transfer. The project also includes 190 trains containing 452 cars, and includes 19 public parking sites on various tracks of the train network in most parts of the city, with different capacities ranging between 400 and 600 cars.
