Dammam Medical Complex, affiliated with Dammam Health Network, achieved medical success by performing a precise operation to remove cecocolic intussusception using laparoscopy.
Regarding the details of the case, Dr. Muhammad Al-Suhaimi, consultant colon and rectal surgeon and supervisor of the case, explained that this operation is one of the successes that reflects the level of medical excellence and advanced care provided at the complex.

Diagnosis of intussusception

After undergoing the necessary tests, including a CT scan, he was diagnosed with a rare intussusception that occurs as a result of part of the sigmoid colon slipping into the ascending colon.
He confirmed that the operation was performed successfully using the laparoscopic technique, where the damaged part of the colon was removed.
The surgery revealed a tumor measuring 5 x 7 cm, which was sent for tissue analysis, and the results confirmed that it was free of any cancer cells.
He pointed out that the patient gradually recovered after the operation, was discharged from the hospital in good health, and returned to his normal life without any significant complications.
