McIlroy leads the world stars in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament

DUBAI, 9 JANUARY / WAM / The organizing committee of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic Golf Championship 2025 announced the launch of its competitions during the period from 16 to 19 January this year at the Emirates Golf Club, with the participation of the elite of the world’s stars.
The committee confirmed that defending champion Rory McIlroy will lead a lineup of stars that includes Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, and Tommy Fleetwood, alongside major champions such as Padraig Harrington, Patrick Reed, and Adam Scott, in addition to Rolex Series winners Robert McIntyre and Nicolai Hoggard.
According to the statement issued today, preparations are underway to stage the event in the best possible way, and rising stars Akshay Bhatia and David Ford, the top seed on the PGA College Tour, will join the tournament for the first time.

Talents such as Rasmus Hoggard, Lauri Kanter, Jordan Smith and Matt Wallace will also join, promising an exciting week at the iconic Council Stadium.
This year the tournament is introducing Step Forward, a new initiative that celebrates the health benefits of golf by motivating spectators to be active and achieve as many strides as possible during the tournament. Participants can register and track their steps, with prizes for the top 3 participants each day.

Research shows that golf spectators average more than 11,500 steps per day at events, providing a unique blend of physical activity.

This year also witnesses an exciting challenge for Roblox fans, with the launch of a special partnership that includes the famous “Just Swing” game.

More than 8,000 Roblox players in the UAE can participate in the world of golf and win exclusive prizes. A special gaming station will also be created for younger audiences, and a tournament village will include arts and crafts and environmentally friendly workshops.
