Festivals top the winter tourism scene in the Emirates

Abu Dhabi, 10 January / WAM / Festivals have been at the forefront of the current winter tourism season in the UAE, through rich and diverse events that have attracted large numbers of local visitors and tourists, once again proving their position as one of the most prominent factors in enhancing the rising performance of the tourism sector.
Since mid-October, a group of festivals have emerged that constitute ideal destinations for those seeking knowledge, culture, entertainment, and shopping, or enjoying heritage and sports activities, under one umbrella that promotes the meeting between different peoples and civilizations.
– Sheikh Zayed Festival
The Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024-2025 is considered one of the largest cultural, cultural and entertainment events, especially with the changes witnessed in the current edition in all aspects, including new designs, events, activities and specialized festivals that are held weekly.
The festival, whose activities will continue until February 28, includes more than 6,000 international cultural events, more than 1,000 performances and major public events, in addition to more than 30,000 exhibitors and participants to attract millions of visitors.
More than 27 countries are participating in the festival, including countries participating for the first time in special pavilions and sections in the festival. The festival also witnesses many accompanying events such as the “His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival,” and the “Sheikh Zayed Sailing Bearings Festival Race.” “Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival Falconry Competitions”, “Zayed Grand Prize ‘Camel Race’”, and “Popular Food Competition”.
– Mother of the Emirates Festival
In its eighth edition, which concluded on December 31, the Mother of the Nation Festival received more than 259,000 visitors who had the opportunity to enjoy more than 350 unique experiences.
The festival began its tour in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the Al Dhafra region, then moved to Al Ain, arriving in the city of Abu Dhabi, where visitors of all ages enjoyed a schedule full of exciting activities and enjoyable experiences.
– “Liwa 2025”
Liwa International Festival “Liwa 2025” presented an exceptional edition, entitled excellence and creativity, over a period of 23 non-stop days until the fourth day of the new year, strengthening its position regionally and globally as one of the most important winter destinations, which attracts various segments of society, lovers of camping and wilderness, and lovers of adventures, traditional sports, speed racing, and car challenges. And bicycles of all kinds.
Visitors to the festival enjoyed a diverse program of fireworks displays, live concerts, and various desert activities, surrounded by the picturesque nature of the Al Dhafra region.
– “Our winter in Hatta”
The “Shatana in Hatta” festival program, which concludes on January 12, included about 120 workshops, in addition to more than 14 diverse events, and 4 innovative community events.
The festival falls under the umbrella of the “Hatta Hatta” initiative, which also includes 4 other festivals: “Hatta Cultural Nights Festival,” “Hatta Honey Festival,” “Hatta Agricultural Festival,” and “Hatta DSF X Festival.”
– “Global Village”
The activities of the 29th season of the Global Village are witnessing great interaction from visitors, who will have the opportunity to enjoy more than 40,000 entertainment shows and more than 200 games and adventure rides offered by the festival until May 11, 2025.
The current season of Global Village includes 30 pavilions that embody more than 90 cultures from various countries, more than 3,500 shopping outlets, and more than 250 outlets with dining and dining options.
During its current season, Global Village launched three new pavilions: the Jordan Pavilion, the Iraq Pavilion, and the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Pavilions.
– “Dubai Shopping”
The 30th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival presented its visitors with a wide range of exclusive offers, various entertainment events, and concerts with the most prominent local and international stars.
Visitors to the festival, which concludes its activities the day after tomorrow, Sunday, enjoyed unique shopping experiences, in addition to huge prize draws, and fireworks displays.
– “Sharjah Events”
The fourth session of the “Sharjah Activities” Festival, which lasted for 4 days under the slogan “Shines with its Activities” at Al Majaz Theater, recorded the attendance of about 30,000 visitors who enjoyed the various activities and events that targeted various family members.
Visitors to the festival, which this year focused on forest adventures, interacted with 52 diverse activities and events, including competitions, challenges, games, carnival shows, and live theatrics.
– “Khorfakkan Marine”
The activities of the Khor Fakkan Marine Festival, in its second edition, attracted a large attendance of 70,420 visitors, who enjoyed, during 10 days, a distinctive atmosphere that combined maritime heritage, pleasure, fun and rich experiences.
More than 40 entities participated in the festival, presenting a variety of cultural, heritage and entertainment activities, and live performances that expressed the fragrant history and maritime heritage, in addition to workshops and exhibitions.
