More than 50 official and non-governmental international organizations, in addition to commodity trade associations and senior global leaders, will also participate in the meeting, which reflects the importance of the event. Among the issues that the next meeting will discuss is the progress achieved during the past year regarding the three ministerial meeting initiatives, which include developing a strategic framework for critical minerals in the region – to add more foundations for cooperation on this subject, increase added value in countries producing metal ores, and produce green metals using technologies. The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, in his capacity as Chairman of the meeting, is scheduled to deliver the opening speech at the ministerial meeting, in which he highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable mineral development, confirms its pioneering role in enhancing the future of the sector and discusses opportunities for global cooperation to confront challenges and invest in the enormous potential. provided by the minerals sector, and His Excellency will be joined in the meeting’s discussions by a group of prominent leaders, including many ministers of the participating governments.

Among the ministers participating in the meeting are Italy’s Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Dr. Gilberto Piccito Frattin, British Minister of State for Business and Trade, Member of Parliament Jonathan Reynolds, Brazilian Energy Minister Alexander Silveira, India’s Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, and South Africa’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parkes Taw. The Minister of Mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kizito Bakabumba Kapinga, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Egypt, Eng. Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Khaled bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, stressed that the meeting represents an important step towards achieving sustainable development in the global mining and metals sector, noting that the mining industry plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable development goals.

Al-Mudaifer pointed out that the international ministerial meeting provides an ideal platform for finding solutions and developing legislation on best practices in the field of sustainable mining, and discussing ways to invest in mining projects to achieve economic and social development in producing countries.
He pointed out that the discussions of this meeting constitute a roadmap throughout the year. The working groups emerging from the meeting will continue to implement the main initiatives, ensuring that the discussions are translated into practical results with a tangible impact.

Al-Mudaifer explained that the International Mining Conference has become a leading global platform for continuous cooperation and diligent work in the field of mineral exploration, production and manufacturing around the world, as there is no other event that brings together ministers and distinguished leaders in the mining industry at this level, which provides every year an opportunity to shape the future of the mineral sector as a A major driver of the energy transition, and an engine of economic development as a whole.
It is noteworthy that the fourth edition of the International Mining Conference will be held during the period from January 14-16, with 250 speakers participating in its sessions. Among them are the CEOs of the largest mining companies, and companies related to the metals and finance sectors. Nearly 15,000 participants are expected to participate in the conference sessions and events.
