The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund allocates $30 million to support those affected by the recent conflict

Mr. Riza confirmed in a statement issued today, Friday, that the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund “He did not hesitate to support those displaced and affected by the conflict, even at the height of hostilities. He was among the first to respond to provide funding to meet needs.”
In addition to the catastrophic human toll, the recent escalation that ended in late November led to widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure, paralyzing basic services such as health care, water and sanitation, with many communities in urgent need of emergency assistance. The Humanitarian Coordinator said that this funding is an “essential lifeline” for affected people and communities.
The $30.7 million allocation aims to enable UN humanitarian partners, including local NGOs and community-based institutions, to provide assistance to target groups in the areas of food security, shelter, nutrition, protection, health care, water and sanitation, and education. It will also prioritize local, community-led responses to ensure access to the most vulnerable groups.
The new funding comes as additional support after the Fund had allocated $12 million in October to support the country’s urgent humanitarian appeal, and is part of the efforts of the Lebanon Response Plan.
It is noteworthy that the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund is a joint country fund led by the Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon and managed by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Since its establishment in 2014, the Fund has received more than US$250 million from donors to support the provision of effective humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable people in Lebanon without discrimination or delay.
