Hosted by the World Government Summit 2026.. Hamdan bin Mohammed meets the pioneers of the list "Edge 50"

Dubai, February 5, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, affirmed that the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, in adopting innovation as an approach to government work, has made the UAE an inspiring and pioneering model, and a global platform for enhancing cooperation in creating the future.

This came during his meeting with His Highness, during the activities of the World Government Summit 2026, with a number of project owners included in the “Edge 50” list, which was developed by the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation in partnership with the global “APolitical” platform, with the aim of highlighting the 50 most innovative and pioneering government initiatives in the world that contributed to creating a transformative and sustainable impact.

His Highness said that since the founding of the country, the leadership of the UAE has adopted innovation as an engine and driving force for development and prosperity. Today, government innovation has become a distinctive feature of government work, and an experience we share with the world, and the “Edge 50” list is an embodiment of this global partnership that celebrates creative innovations around the world.

The list covers a number of vital sectors, including human resources and talent development, economy, community development, urban planning and infrastructure, health and preventive services, sustainability, environment and climate, legislation and justice, immigration and mobility, innovation and anticipating the future, and enhancing community participation.

The EDGE 50 list embodies an advanced global model for how to employ innovation in government work, through practical initiatives that are applicable and adaptable in different contexts, thus contributing to improving the quality of life and enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of government institutions. The launch of the list comes within the framework of the efforts of the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation to support innovation, exchange best practices globally, and enable governments to anticipate the future and adopt solutions that contribute to achieving a positive and sustainable impact.
