Under the patronage of Hamdan bin Zayed, the Al Dhafra Championship for Arabian Horses will be launched tomorrow

Al Dhafra, 15 January / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the fifth edition of the Al Dhafra Arabian Horse Championship for “Special Studs” will kick off tomorrow, and will continue for 4 days on the Al Mughira Corniche in the Al Dhafra Region.
The tournament is organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, with the participation of 505 horses of the finest breeds, belonging to about 303 owners. The organizing committee allocated valuable financial prizes for the tournament, and a special honor represented by the His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Award, for citizen breeders in the Al Dhafra region, which is given to the winners of the positions. The top three for each category of tournaments.
During its previous editions, the tournament was able to consolidate its position as one of the most important competitions for private stud owners, and it also gives owners and breeders in the Al Dhafra region additional incentives that enhance the development of Arabian horses in the region.
The activities of the first day begin at ten o’clock in the morning, with the category of one-year-old fillies, divided into 5 sections “A, B, C, D, E”, followed by the rounds of the second category for two-year-old fillies “A, B, C”.
The activities of the second day, “Friday,” will begin with a round for the category of fillies aged 3 years, consisting of two sections “A, B”, followed by the category of mares aged 4-6 years “A, B”, then the category of mares aged 7 years and above “A, B”. Then, the second day’s competitions will conclude with sections A and B for the one-year-old colts category.
The third day will witness the completion of the race for one-year-old colts in sections “C, D”, followed by the races for the two-year-old colts category, which is in 3 sections “A, B, C”, then the race for 3-year-old colts “A, B”, and the day’s activities conclude. Third in Section “A” for stallions aged 4-6 years.
The activities of the fourth and final day begin with the completion of the category of stallions 4-6, “B, C”, followed by the category of stallions aged 7 years and above, which is divided into two sections, “A, B”.
Then the 6 championship rounds begin, which are one-year-old fillies, 2-3 year old fillies, one-year-old colts, 2-3 year old colts, mares, and finally stallions.
