She indicated that the number of palm trees in all regions has reached (37.1) million trees, including about (31.8) million fruit trees.
The Ministry stated, in a report on the total number of palm trees and their fruits, in addition to the production quantities of all varieties across the Kingdom for the year 2023 AD; The Riyadh region ranked second in terms of the amount of date production, with a production exceeding (453.1) thousand tons.
The Medina region came third, with more than (343) thousand tons, followed by the Eastern Region, with a production exceeding (258.7) thousand tons, then the Asir region with about (61) thousand tons, and Tabuk with more than (55.6) thousand tons, then the rest of the regions came with a production of quantities Varying variety of dates.
Number of palm trees in the Kingdom
The report indicated the total number of palm trees in various regions of the Kingdom, which was led by the Al-Qassim region with more than (10.7) million trees, including more than (9.7) million fruit-bearing trees, followed by the Riyadh region with more than (8) million trees, including More than (6.8) million fruit trees, then Medina, where the number of palm trees exceeded (8) million trees, including more than (6.4) million fruit trees, then the Eastern Region with more than (4) million. Trees, including more than 3.9 million fruit trees, and then come the different regions of the Kingdom, with varying numbers of palm trees and their fruit trees.
The report confirmed that the “Khalas” and “Yellow Sugar” varieties topped the total number of palm trees and their fruits, in addition to the total quantity of production, in all regions of the Kingdom, for the year 2023 AD. The quantity of their production exceeded (609) thousand tons for khalas, and more than (394) thousand tons for yellow sugar, while the quantity of production of the “Berni Medina” variety reached more than (124.7) thousand tons, and the “Barhi” variety more than (103.5) thousand tons.
He pointed out that the number of palm trees for salvation in all regions exceeded (10.8) million trees, including more than (9.4) million fruit trees, while the number of yellow sugar palm trees exceeded (7.3) million trees, including more than (6.6) million fruit trees. The number of trees of the “Berni Medina” variety reached more than (3) million trees, including more than (2.3) million fruit-bearing trees, and the “Barhi” variety reached more than two million trees, including more than (1.7) Millions of fruit trees.
While the Qassim region topped the production quantities of the “yellow sugar” variety, exceeding (363) thousand tons, in addition to the number of palm trees of the same variety exceeding (6.6) million trees, including more than (6) million fruit trees, and the Riyadh region came after it. By producing more than (14) thousand tons of the “yellow sugar” variety, with a number of trees exceeding (251) thousand trees, including more than (214) thousand fruit trees, followed by the area Hail, with the production of more than (7.7) thousand tons of the “yellow sugar” variety, and the number of trees approaching (174) thousand trees, including approximately (139) thousand fruit trees.
