Rania Youssef reveals new secrets about her childhood and her father

During her interview with writer Reem Jamil in the first episode of the “Rima and Her Stories” podcast, artist Rania Youssef revealed new secrets about her childhood, her relationship with her father, and how he dealt with her, stressing that one of the most prominent things she learned from her studies in a school for nuns was adherence to the rules.

Rania said: “I rebelled five years ago. My upbringing led me to live in terror all the time. My father was an officer, my mother was a hostess, and my father was the one who was with me the most.” She continued: “My father was not cruel, but I was terrified of him. We are the generation of girls who lived in fear all the time, and had rituals that I could not deviate from.”

In response to a question about the reason for her desire to be free from the restrictions of her upbringing, Rania said: “In order to make money and work for my future the way I want, I was forced to enter English Literature and I finished it in 14 years, but I wanted to enter the Film Institute and become a director, but that did not happen.”

It is noteworthy that Rania Youssef’s latest artistic work is the play “Conversation with Me, Kiki”, which she presented within the “Riyadh Season”, written by Hani Al-Tambari, directed by Batoul Arafa, and co-starring with the artists: Dina El-Sherbiny, Aws Aws, Hala Sidqi, Mohamed Diab, Ahmed. Sultan, and Ahmed Abdel Wahab.

Rania Youssef is also currently showing the series “Family Topic 3”, which includes a large number of stars, most notably: Majed El-Kedawny, Yasmina El-Abd, Taha Desouky, Sama Ibrahim, Mohamed Radwan…, and it is written by Mohamed Ezz El-Din and Karim Youssef, and directed by Ahmed.
