Launching the Emirati Essay Award in 6 branches to “support the creative activity” of those with national thought

Today, the Dubai Press Club witnessed the launch of the Emirati Article Award, which is an annual award whose work and activities are supervised by a Board of Trustees, in cooperation with a jury of qualified people, to evaluate the works nominated for the award, and aims to support creative activity in the field of article writing, and to encourage this type of writing. And increasing the level of interest in it from people of national thought.

Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office, and President of the Dubai Press Club, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, said that the award will receive all the necessary support to achieve its goals as it is one of the Arab media awards.

She explained that the award, which is awarded annually, is subject to the supervision of a board of trustees and cooperates with a jury that includes an elite group of experts to evaluate the nominated works, stressing that the Emirati Essay Award is national and through it we aim to enhance national identity, culture and our authentic Arab values.

The award’s Board of Trustees includes 7 members: the founder of the award, Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, and members of the Board of Trustees: Dr. Maryam Al Hashemi, Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Mira Al Janahi, Jamal Al Shehhi, and Reem Al Kamali.

The Board of Trustees set 8 conditions for nomination for the award: that the candidate must be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, that he must write on a contemporary Emirati topic, that the article must have originality, creativity, and depth, that it must not be published or submitted for another award, that it be written in a sound Arabic language, and that it must not The number of words is less than 1,000 words and does not exceed 2,000 words, while the candidate has the right to submit one text in one branch of the award, and in the event that artificial intelligence is used in writing the article; The writer is obligated to clarify this.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, said that the award includes 6 branches: the literary article, the intellectual article, the economic article, the social article, the political article, and the scientific article, with the value of the award being 10 thousand dirhams for each branch, indicating that the Board of Trustees The trustees are considering adding other branches in the future.

He explained that nominations for the award are scheduled to open on January 16, and will continue until March 16, which is the last date for submission. Judging will be completed and the winners will be announced on May 1, with the award ceremony being held in May and on September 16. A reading of the winning works will be conducted.
