The Obstetrics Conference in Abu Dhabi showcases the UAE’s leadership in maternal care innovations

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / The Obstetrics Conference, in its first edition held in Abu Dhabi, reviewed the UAE’s leadership in maternal care innovations and the latest health care innovations for mothers and newborns in the country and a number of countries around the world.

The conference, organized by Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, part of the international medical group M42, attracted about 200 participants, experts and specialist doctors.

Under the slogan “Pioneering innovations and anticipating the future of maternal health,” the conference provided a comprehensive platform for general attendees, medical care professionals, researchers and innovators in health care, to enhance cooperation, exchange knowledge and information, and anticipate the future of obstetrics.

The event highlighted several advances in obstetric care, such as genetic testing for high-risk pregnancies, prenatal mental health, and fetal cardiac intervention in pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes and others.

Its activities included interactive dialogue sessions and specialized workshops designed to stimulate cooperation and communication between healthcare professionals in this medical specialty.

Dr. Sumaya Zaher, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children and Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant, affirmed the hospital’s commitment to establishing new standards in maternal health care in the UAE and the world, as it is a major reference center for high-risk pregnancies.

She added that by strengthening cooperation relations with an elite group of experts in obstetrics, we aim to advance progress in maternal and child health around the world and work together to raise the standards of maternal and newborn care and anticipate a safer and healthier future for mothers and their newborns.
