Development at a cost of 1.3 billion riyals

The total length of the new roads that will be completed during the year 2024 is about 283 kilometers, with a total value estimated at 1.3 billion riyals, which reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing advanced infrastructure in line with the Kingdom’s development plans.
Engineer Al-Otaibi explained that one of the most prominent projects under implementation is the dualization of the Bisha-Raniya-Al-Khurma road to the Taif-Riyadh highway, with a length of 313 kilometers, which aims to enhance traffic and support regional development plans.

Strategic connectivity of roads

Among the vital projects, work is underway to connect the Taif-Riyadh Expressway to Al-Sail Al-Kabir Road, to facilitate transportation to and from the holy sites, ensuring better service for the guests of God.
Al-Otaibi referred to the project to establish a pedestrian crossing under the Eastern Ring Road in Arafat, with a length of 300 metres, with the aim of separating pedestrian traffic from vehicles and enhancing public safety during the Hajj season.
This statement came during Engineer Khaled Al-Otaibi’s participation in the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, where he stressed that these projects reflect the Kingdom’s 2030 vision in developing the transport and logistics services sector to serve pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims with the best international standards.
