Under an agreement, US nuclear exports to Armenia amount to $5 billion

US Vice President J. Vance and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a statement regarding the nuclear agreement, during his current two-day visit to Armenia.

The two officials indicated that they had completed negotiations on what is known as the (123) agreement, which allows the United States to license the transfer of nuclear technology and equipment to other countries legally.

The US Vice President stated that the agreement allows initial US exports worth up to five billion dollars to Armenia, in addition to long-term fuel and maintenance contracts worth four billion dollars.

The Armenian Prime Minister said in the joint press conference with the US Vice President: "This agreement will open a new chapter in consolidating the partnership between Armenia and the United States in the energy field".
