المملكة: Riyadh hosts 45 ministers at the International Labor Market Conference

Under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – the capital, Riyadh, will host on Wednesday, January 29, the second edition of the International Labor Market Conference.
This was attended by 45 ministers of labor representing G20 countries, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, in addition to an elite group of experts, decision-makers and specialists in labor markets around the world.

The conference constitutes a global platform to enhance international cooperation in the field of developing policies and legislation related to the labor market, discuss challenges related to youth employment, and review innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing their participation in the global economy and supporting efforts to achieve sustainable development and economic prosperity.

International Labor Organization

The ministerial meeting is chaired by Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, in the presence of the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert Hongbo, and with the broad participation of experts and specialists from various sectors.
The conference is also held in cooperation with prestigious international organizations such as the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Saudi labor markets

In its second edition, the conference focuses on six main pillars, including developing and rehabilitating skills, supporting the mobile workforce, empowering youth, promoting technological innovation, supporting small and medium-sized companies, promoting the green economy, and providing sustainable solutions to labor market challenges in light of the rapid economic and technological transformations.

Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thanin, stressed that the International Labor Market Conference is an opportunity to exchange visions and experiences between participating countries and invest in global knowledge and capabilities to enhance work environments and develop policies that contribute to achieving stability and growth in the Saudi and global labor markets in a manner consistent with… With transformations and future aspirations.
