The Environmental Laboratory in Ajman Municipality examined 496 samples during the first quarter

Ajman, April 18 / WAM / The Environmental Laboratory at the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman announced that it has achieved remarkable growth in the number of samples examined during the first quarter of 2026.
He explained that the total number of samples during the first quarter of this year reached 496 samples, compared to 360 samples during the same period in 2025, an increase of 38%, which reflects the sustainable development in the scope of regulatory work and the strengthening of efforts to protect the environment and public health in the emirate, in line with the strategic goal of strengthening food and environmental management, and in line with the directions of Ajman 2030.
The samples analyzed included a variety of environmental fields, as 72 samples of seawater were examined to monitor water quality, 28 samples of groundwater and agricultural water, in addition to 73 samples of cosmetics and 323 other environmental samples, within an integrated monitoring system covering various sectors in the Emirate of Ajman.
Dr. Engineer Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, confirmed that this increase in the number of samples reflects the department’s keenness to strengthen the environmental control system, explaining that efforts continue to work in accordance with international best practices.
He stressed the importance of testing and its important role in detecting pollutants and supporting decision-making based on accurate scientific data, ensuring the protection of community health and the preservation of the environment.
For his part, Engineer Abdullah Al Tamimi, Director of the Central Laboratories Department, explained that the Environmental Laboratory is witnessing continuous development in its procedures and techniques, pointing to the adoption of the latest devices and technologies, in addition to the application of international quality systems such as ISO/IEC 17025, and the launch of the Laboratory Management System (LIMS), which contributed to raising work efficiency, accelerating the issuance of results, and enhancing integration with regulatory systems, which supports achieving environmental sustainability in the emirate.
