Exhibition opening details "Quarter ton" By artist Naseer Shamma in Al-Bab Hall.. tomorrow

Within the activity plan of the Ministry of Culture, and under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Dr. Walid Qanoush, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, will inaugurate the “Quarter ton” exhibition. By the artist Naseer Shamma, tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at six in the evening, in Al-Bab Hall, the square of the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, on the grounds of the Cairo Opera House, in the presence of a group of public figures, artists, and art professors. The exhibition will continue until February 1, 2025 – The visit is from 9 am to 9 pm, except on Fridays.

Dr. Walid Qanoush said: “Under the title “A Quarter of a Ton” Nasr Shamma presents a group of his pictorial works that reflect mysticism and sensitivity as if they were inscriptions on an antique wall. His abstract style gave them vast dimensions of imagination and poetry, as if they were one of his pieces, but this time they were visual. He left all freedom to the recipient’s conscience in reading them and being influenced by them, as they are like sweet melodies that allow the weaving of dreams and feelings. This visual and spiritual distillation, with which his emotions and feelings were fused, creates the elements of mental excitement And the sentimentality of the recipient.”

For his part, the artist Naseer Shamma said: “Every time I start a painting, I feel as if I am opening a portal to another space, as far away as infinity, and as close as possible.” To the point of touching the soul, art for me is not just a creative process; It is a struggle, an intense internal debate between chaos and harmony, between darkness and light, and between silence and the clamor of thoughts. In that moment when colors are formed and musical notes flow within me, I find myself stuck between two questions: How can art embody this vast universe? How does artistic work become a bridge towards invisible worlds that inhabit the soul?

He added: “My great happiness is that my second personal exhibition will be held in Cairo, where I spent a third of my life as a founder, musician, and active part of its cultural movement.”
