He pointed out that the efforts of the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom are not limited to connecting global destinations only, but rather the sector seeks to enhance international cooperation, support sustainability, and confirm the Kingdom’s leading position in the field of innovations in the global aviation sector.

He said: The Kingdom confirms its leadership position in the field of civil aviation in the world, through its prominent role in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), and its hosting of global events, such as the 2024 Future of Aviation Conference, which witnessed the signing of 102 agreements. With a value of $20 billion.
He explained that meeting the increasing demand is a major challenge, as manufacturers face a backlog of orders, and thus airlines suffer from restrictions on operational capacity. It is useful that this challenge provides a great opportunity for economic growth, as the aviation sector in the Kingdom contributes five times its value to the economic system, and requires the creation of 279,000 additional jobs to support future expansion plans.

Air connectivity

He stated that the increase in air connectivity in the latest statistics contributes to more than 170 destinations around the world, and the increase in air cargo capabilities (with a growth of 35% during the year 2024) contributes to enhancing global trade, tourism and humanitarian efforts.
The Authority’s Executive Vice President for Strategy and Business Intelligence, Engineer Mohammed bin Fahd Al Khuraisi, explained in a discussion session entitled “Shaping the Future of Innovation and Investment”; The National Aviation Strategy does not focus only on infrastructure development; Rather, it seeks to transform the civil aviation sector into an engine of innovation, sustainability, and economic growth for the Kingdom and the world, which enhances the Kingdom’s leadership role on the international scene.”

He discussed the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom with more than 250 destinations and increase the number of passengers to 330 million passengers annually.
It is noteworthy that the strategy seeks to attract investments worth $100 billion in the civil aviation sector, including $50 billion for airports, and $40 billion to purchase new aircraft, which contributes to creating unprecedented opportunities for investment and growth through privatization and partnership between the public and private sectors.

Engineer Al-Khuraisi reviewed the investment opportunities and incentives provided by the sector in the Kingdom and the latest developments witnessed by major projects in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom, including King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, which contains six runways, in addition to partnerships between the public and private sectors to develop Abha airports. Taif, Hail and Qassim International, in addition to reviewing a number of investment opportunities in the sectors of shipping, logistics services, advanced air transport, and commercial aviation, in addition to empowering the tourism and business sectors, given their prominent role. In the Kingdom’s economy, by launching the general aviation road map, with the aim of providing advanced infrastructure, new aircraft, and providing more advanced services.
