15 countries participate in the Abu Dhabi International Figure Skating Championship
Abu Dhabi, January 23 / WAM / Abu Dhabi will host the first edition of the “Union Cup” international exhibition skating event at Zayed Sports City during the period from 6 to 9 February.
The tournament, organized by the Emirates Winter Sports Federation, is sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with the participation of 15 countries, in the men’s and women’s individual categories.
It also includes an international display of talents and skills, and skating competitions for all ages and levels.
Hamel Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the Emirates Winter Sports Federation, confirmed that qualitative leaps have been achieved thanks to the support, interest and care of the wise leadership, which contributed to the achievement of many international and international achievements, the growth and development of the game and the discovery of promising talents.
He pointed out that the large participation of international athletes contributes to demonstrating advanced technical levels and achieving the best rates of competition among participants from inside and outside the country.
For her part, Zahra Lari, Chair of the Federation’s Figure Skating Committee, expected strong competition in the tournament in light of the large participation expected from stars from different countries of the world, noting that such tournaments have a tangible impact in improving the capabilities of the UAE’s male and female players.
