With the participation of 11 Saudi entities…the launch of the 56th session of the Cairo Book Fair
This session comes under the slogan “Read… In the beginning there was the word,” and its cultural activities will be held from January 23 to February 5, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, with the Sultanate of Oman as guest of honor, and the name of Dr. Ahmed Mustajir, the Egyptian scholar and writer, is the character of the exhibition, and the name of the writer is Fatima Al-Maamoul, the character of the children’s book exhibition.
The Cairo Book Fair began in 1969, and is considered the second largest fair in the world after the Frankfurt Fair.
A rich cultural program
The current session of the Cairo International Book Fair includes a rich and diverse cultural program that includes more than 600 events, including literary seminars, intellectual dialogues, and artistic performances, with the participation of an elite group of thinkers and creators from around the world.
The exhibition seeks at a steady pace to keep pace with technological development, by creating new cultural axes that are in line with the challenges of the times, such as the axis of “Translating the Human Sciences in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and the axis of “Cultural Diplomacy.”
Discount suite
This year, the exhibition will witness for the first time a special pavilion for discounted books issued by the Egyptian General Book Authority and the rest of the sectors of the Ministry of Culture concerned with publishing.
The pavilion includes hundreds of titles in all branches of knowledge, at discounted prices for the exhibition’s audience.
Distinguished Saudi participation
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority is at the forefront of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair 2025 in its fifty-sixth session, which is organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority.
The Kingdom’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair 2025 includes 11 government agencies, the participation is led by the Publishing, Literature and Translation Authority, with the participation of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, the King Salman Academy for the Arabic Language, and the Saudi Cultural Mission in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In addition to the King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Fahd National Library, Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University, Prince Sattam University, Tabuk University, Hafr Al-Batin University, and the Publishing Society.
Strengthening the Kingdom’s cultural presence
The CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Wasel said that the Authority’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s presence on the regional and global cultural and literary scene, raise awareness of the Saudi cultural heritage, and highlight the Kingdom’s growing contributions to the global cultural movement.
