Sharjah and Arab Air Airport launch the first direct flights to Addis Ababa

Sharjah, January 31 / WAM / Sharjah Airport, yesterday, launched the first direct flights of Arab Air to the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, to join the list of direct travel destinations to and from the city of Sharjah.

It is scheduled that Arab Air will travel three scheduled flights a week between Sharjah and Edis Ababa on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday from Sharjah with the “Airbus 320” plane.

The opening of the opening trip was attended by His Excellency Ali Salem Al -Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, His Excellency Adelaoa Kibidi Irina, Consul General of the Democratic Federal Ethiopian Republic in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and His Excellency Adel Al -Ali, CEO For the “Air Arabia” group, and the capacity of all the son of Mary, the deputy of the Ethiopian Consul General, and a number of officials.

His Excellency Ali Salem Al -Midfa said that the launch of the new destination to Addis Ababa and its joining the list of direct destinations for travelers through Sharjah Airport confirms the Sharjah International Airport Authority’s keenness to expand the network of global stations to which flights are running and in a way that meets the growing demand for travel and shipping between the UAE And the Republic of Ethiopia, within the framework of the economic, commercial and tourism relations between the two countries, which in recent years witnessed a positive ascending path that would prompt comprehensive development in the two countries to wider horizons.

He expressed his happiness with this new step, which is in line with the ambitious goals of the Sharjah International Airport Authority within its strategy to expand the continents of the world, especially countries with high population density and the growing economic pace, as well as countries that abound with attractive tourist and natural destinations.

For his part, His Excellency Adelaoa Kibi Irina stressed that this trip is not just a new air line, but rather a strategic bridge that enhances the ties between Ethiopia and the UAE and opens broader horizons for cultural and commercial exchange, facilitating the movement of travelers between the two countries.

He expressed his confidence that this step will be the beginning of more fruitful cooperation in the air transport sector and its aspiration until these trips become daily to keep pace with the growing demand and enhance the opportunities for communication and economic integration.

For his part, His Excellency Adel Al -Ali said that the launch of the first direct flights of “Arab Air” from Sharjah to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia provides travelers more comfortable travel options for the purpose of work or tourism alike.

He added that adding the new face reflects the commitment of “Air Arabia” to provide reliable flights while enhancing air communication and expanding its growing destination network to meet the needs of travelers.
