The opening of two artistic exhibitions at the Mirroh Center for Arts in Sharjah

Sharjah, February 2 / WAM / The Mirroh Center for the Arts opened the creative initiative of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Sunrise), today, at its headquarters, two new exhibitions, the first entitled “Nadia Siqali and its Contemporary”, and includes a number of works from the Bargil Art Foundation group and a collection of art holdings especially. As for the second exhibition, “Between Sunrise and sunset”, it is a syntactic work by Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al -Qusayr, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shorouk), Sultan Saud Al Qasimi, founder of the Bargil Arts Foundation, and Dr. Bradib Sharma, Director of the Department of Arts, Culture and Heritage at Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, along with a number of officials.
The artist Nadia Siqali is considered one of the pioneers of abstract art, as she left a mark in the Lebanese artistic scene thanks to her innovative use of materials and her distinctive approach in choosing colors and her works are inspired by a wide range of cognitive sources starting from science such as astronomy and geology to philosophy, spirituality and ending with nature, and its artistic practice reflects the spirit of diversity And open experimentation, which established its presence as a prominent figure in the path of the development of abstract art in the region.
Sultan Saud Al Qasimi said, today we present the work of the artist Nadia Siqali, the exceptional works of the UAE fans through cooperation with the Mirrors Center for Arts, where I met several times in Paris and got acquainted with her pioneering abstract works, which left a rich artistic legacy in the field of abstract art at the region level.
Dr. Nina Hydeman, director of the Mirroh Center for Arts and 1971 – said the design area, we are pleased to show work again from the rich artistic collection of the Bargil Arts Foundation at the Mirroh Center for Arts after years of fruitful cooperation that spanned from 2010 to 2018 in the Kasaba region of Sharjah, and not only This exceptional exhibition by highlighting the pivotal role that Nadia Siqali played in the development of abstract art as much as it seeks to review its imprint affecting a whole generation of artists inside and outside Lebanon, and we are honored to host this important exhibition that will take us on a journey through time to the golden contracts of abstract art during the era of the sixties And the seventies.
A number of artists expressed their admiration for the abstract works of the artist Nadia Siqali, who stems from her deep curiosity to explore the surrounding world, and also highlight the collective influence of the practices of contemporary artists in Beirut and abroad on the path of abstract art in the Arab world.
On the exhibition, “Between the Sunrise and the sunset”, by the Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, this work was originally coordinated by Maya Alison, the executive director of the art gallery at New York University Abu Dhabi and the head of the technical values at the university, for the national pavilion of the UAE in the arts of the arts 2022, and the syntactic work is formed From 128 individual pieces.
