The UAE participates in the meetings of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers in Baghdad

Baghdad, February 4/ WAM/ The UAE participated in the work of the 48th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, and the 71st session of the Executive Office of the Council hosted by the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The state at the meeting was His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al -Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports with the participation of ministers and officials from the youth and sports sectors in a number of Arab countries, along with officials from the League of Arab States.
The two meetings witnessed a review of a number of projects and initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering Arab youth, including the Arab Youth, Peace and Security Strategy, to be launched in 2025 and its inclusion on the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit, as well as the initiative to establish the Arab Youth Union, the Arab Forum for Young Inventors, and programs It is concerned with empowering young people and enhancing their role in advancing their societies and discussing ways to develop sports infrastructure in Arab countries, support community sport, and enhance cooperation between clubs and sports institutions.
His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al -Hajri, the UAE’s keenness, based on the vision and directives of its wise leadership, stressed to support joint Arab work in the field of sports development and empowering youth, and its commitment to advance the process of integration and cooperation in developing effective initiatives and policies that rise to the Arab sports sector to new levels and enhance its role is a basic pillar For sustainable development, it serves the issues and interests of Arab youth and opens a broader prospect for them to contribute to the growth of their countries and societies.
He added that the meetings of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers are of great importance as a major platform for enhancing Arab cooperation in the youth and sports sectors, where we discussed files concerned with empowering Arab youth and developing sports an effective tool in developing our Arab societies and reviewed a number of projects and initiatives that aim to create an integrated mathematical environment that supports aspirations Young people, and enhance the opportunities to exchange experiences and cooperation between Arab countries, in line with the Ministry of Sports strategy to promote cooperation and coordination permanently with the various partners in the sports field in the region, which works to enhance the sports movement in a fruitful and effective way between the UAE and the sister Arab countries.
Al -Hajri appreciated the joint efforts made during the meetings and expressed the aspiration that the decisions and initiatives approved contribute to achieving a sustainable impact that supports the growth of the youth and sports sectors in the Arab world, stressing that the development of sport and enhancing its position at the regional level requires a continuous collective work, and cooperation between all the concerned parties to provide an environment Supporting enables young people to achieve their aspirations.
The meetings dealt with several youth and sports files, including the proposal to establish a fund to support the reconstruction of the affected sports facilities in Gaza and southern Lebanon, the Arab Forum for Camping and Scouts, and the Excellence and Creativity Award for young talented people, as well as a number of events aimed at developing the Arab sports sector.

The meetings came out with a number of fruitful recommendations, most notably the declaration of Amman, the capital of Arab youth for the year 2025, in addition to Jordan’s accreditation to host the launch of the executive plan for the Arab Youth, Peace and Security Strategy 2023-2028.
