“Emirates Sharia Fatwa” organizes the “Al -Shawaf” forum to investigate the family

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidency Bureau, the Emirates Sharia Council is organizing the “Al -Shawaf” forum to investigate the family, which is scheduled to be held on February 17 on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, in the presence and participation of experts, personalities and institutions National, in addition to external parties specialized in the legal, astronomical and legal fields, with the aim of enriching the work of the forum and its activities.

On this occasion, the President of the Council, the scholar Abdullah bin Bey, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage of this forum, adding: “This sponsorship embodies His Highness’s constant keenness to support all initiatives that enhance the efforts of national institutions in carrying out their roles And its powers.

He also explained that “this forum comes within the efforts of the Council in deepening scientific research, developing policies and procedures for the field of investigation of the family, and documenting partnerships with the relevant authorities at the local and regional levels.”

Unification of national visions

The forum aims to activate coordination with the concerned authorities to unify the national visions in monitoring and proving the family in accordance with the best global practices, up to legal and scientific outputs, in preparation for receiving the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH – 2025 CE.

The pre -emptive vision of the forum is to devise advanced legal and scientific solutions in the field of investigating the family and their governance.

The forum also seeks to enhance the leadership of the UAE in the fields of astronomical monitoring, the investigation of the family, and the evaluation of lunar months, in addition to activating and investing the tools of cultural diligence, and finding an accurate methodology based on total purposes, scientific means and realistic studies, with the aim of upgrading the institutional Fatwa system.

The Forum highlights the national legacy of the UAE in the field of the vision of the family, and links the community members to the originality of their ancient cultural heritage, as well as building strategic partnerships with the competent national authorities, opening up to leading experiences, and benefiting from the best international models and practices in this field.

A significant Emirati word

The forum is titled “Al -Shaf” from the abundant national heritage, where the name is inspired by an Emirati word with a deep significance, which was called in the past on the one who was distinguished by the sharpness of sight and insightful vision, and was used in the local heritage to describe the person who is awaiting the crescent and monitors it until it is proven to be seen and announced at the beginning of the lunar month .

The forum’s agenda includes three main sessions:
• The first session: “The investigation of the family in light of the accelerated developments: legal standards and scientific premises.”
• The second session: “The governance of the family’s investigation in the context of institutional fatwa: legislation and national efforts.”
• The third session: “National experiences in investigating the family and determining the lunar months.”

On the sidelines of its work, the forum is also organizing an accompanying exhibition that highlights the civilizational heritage and local culture of the UAE society in the field of investigation of the family.
