The disturbing mystery of the disappearance of American scientists and the Trump administration is moving

The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering opening an investigation into a series of disappearances and mysterious deaths of American scientists and experts linked to advanced research, in a development that raises the issue from the realm of speculation to the level of official interest.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said that she would contact the relevant authorities to verify these facts, stressing that “if this is true, it is a matter worthy of investigation.”

According to a report by Newsweek magazine, about 10 cases of American scientists who have disappeared or died since mid-2024 have been recorded, all of them linked to sensitive research in areas such as nuclear energy or space.

US President Donald Trump described these developments as a “very dangerous matter,” expressing his hope that the cases were just a coincidence, but indicated that the administration would discuss them during the coming period.

Among the cases is the disappearance of retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland in February 2026 in New Mexico, where his personal belongings were found inside his home, while a piece of his clothing was found some distance from his place of residence.

Aerospace engineer Monica Risa also disappeared in June 2025 during a hiking trip in California, and she had previously worked on a government project related to missile materials.

The list also includes a number of researchers in prominent scientific institutions, including scientists at NASA and Los Alamos laboratories, some of whom died in circumstances described as unusual.

Despite the spread of theories linking these incidents to espionage or even unconventional phenomena, the US authorities have not confirmed the existence of any official link between the cases yet.
