US-Iranian talks will be held in Islamabad on Sunday

The American news site Axios revealed on Friday, citing sources, that Washington and Tehran are negotiating a plan to end the war that includes Iran giving up its stock of enriched uranium.

The website explained that Washington and Tehran are negotiating a plan to end the war that includes the possibility of releasing about $20 billion of Iran’s frozen funds in exchange for it giving up its enriched uranium.

The website indicated that Iran wants more than $20 billion, wants to engage in the global financial system, and does not want to sufficiently abandon its nuclear program or its support for movements such as Hamas.

According to Axios, citing sources, the US-Iranian talks are likely to be held in Islamabad on Sunday.

The website explained that mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran are led by Pakistan, with indirect support from Egypt and Turkey.

Axios referred to a proposal under discussion that stipulates the transfer of part of the highly enriched uranium from Iran to a third country.

He added that a proposal is being discussed that stipulates reducing the enrichment rate for another part of Iran’s uranium stock under international supervision.
