US Secretary of State Marco Rubio South Africa of “anti -America” ​​and said that he will not attend the meeting of the G20 foreign ministers to be held later this month in Johannesburg, as South Africa will chair the current session of the Group of Twenty this year.
Rubio announced this yesterday evening, Wednesday, in a post on the X application, where he was accused of South Africa of “committing very bad things.”
This includes “confiscation of private property”, focusing on the climate crisis, and using the G20 forum for the world’s largest economies to promote diversity, equality and integration initiatives.

The foreign ministers of the Group of Twenty will meet on February 20 and 21, and this was supposed to be the first opportunity for Rubio to meet some of his counterparts personally, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
US President Donald Trump threatened at the beginning of last week to cut off all financial aid from South Africa after indicating that the country’s white minority may be harmed by a law.
South Africa has repeatedly rejected Trump’s accusations that the government is not fairly dealing with “certain layers of the people.”
“South Africa is a constitutional democracy, deeply rooted in the rule of law, justice and equality, and the government of South Africa has not confiscated any land,” said South African President Cyril Ramafuza, in a post on the social media platform “X”.
