6 crew members of the ship “Mariana” are missing

The US Coast Guard announced on Monday that the ship that capsized and was found after it was struck by a hurricane near the US island of Saipan is the same ship that was missing with six people on board.
The Coast Guard stated that it is still searching for the six people, noting that the capsized ship was spotted for the first time yesterday, Saturday.
The Coast Guard also reported, in a press release, that the crew of an HC-130 Hercules aircraft belonging to the 31st Rescue Squadron of the US Air Force confirmed the identity of the ship as the cargo ship “Mariana” yesterday evening, Sunday.
The dry cargo ship “Mariana”, registered in the United States, which is 145 feet (44 meters) long, suffered an engine failure last Wednesday, as a strong typhoon approached Saipan Island and neighboring islands, accompanied by strong winds and continuous heavy rains.
After the crew reported that the ship’s right engine had broken down and needed assistance, the Coast Guard set a timetable to communicate with the ship for one hour.
But communication was lost last Thursday, as an HC-130 plane took off that morning to search for the ship, but it returned to Guam due to strong winds.
