A new electronic device to detect and track violence against women

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Evica Celina, revealed a new electronic device capable of tracking and discovering cases of violence against women and domestic violence, which will be launched during the next months to ensure that the aggressors comply with legal procedures, a development that would enhance the protection of victims more.

During her speech at the Gender Balance Forum, she said at the World Summit on Governments held in Dubai, that the Latvia government has ratified the first national plan to prevent violence against women and domestic violence, and for several years, the aggressor became the one who is isolated instead of forcing the victim to flee from her home in search For safety, a fundamental shift in dealing with these issues.

She added, “Historically, the victim and often with her children were the one who had to leave the house in search of a safe shelter, but in recent years, we have made fundamental changes, not only at the level of legislation, but also in implementation mechanisms, which made a real difference.

The Prime Minister of Latvia stressed that the UAE is a leading model in enhancing gender equality on the international scene, as it is a major contributor to providing humanitarian aid to women and girls in need, praising the UAE’s role in its steadfast support for the women’s agenda, peace and security during its recent membership in the United Nations Security Council .
