Al -Zyoudi Second holds talks with government representatives from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas

Dubai, February 14/ WAM/ His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, held a series of high -level meetings with a number of officials and ministers of the participating countries in the World Government Summit, during which he affirmed the UAE’s commitment to trade and investment as a major driver for sustainable growth.
Discussions were focused on ways to deepen cooperation, accelerate the flow of goods and services, and direct investments to priority sectors, such as energy, logistics, food security and advanced technology.
In two separate meetings with Lisa Aranetamarcos, the first lady of the Philippine Republic, and Sonixi Sevandone, Prime Minister of Laos, His Excellency Dr. Al -Zyoudi discussed the increasing importance of the ASEAN region in the foreign trade and investment strategy of the UAE, and the desire to enhance relations with this region that enjoys manufacturing and production sectors Advanced food.
The talks with Manasiro Nakosaparia Kamikamica, Vice Prime Minister of Fiji, dealt with logistical services, fishing industry and the importance of moving forward in climate mitigation policies.
On the other hand, His Excellency Dr. Al -Zyoudi reviewed the successes that were achieved in the implementation of the Emirates program for comprehensive economic partnership agreements, which started in the year 2021 and witnessed so far 24 agreements, during talks with representatives of partners in the initiative, including His Excellency Boy Thanna Sun, Deputy Prime Minister Vietnam Foreign Minister, with which the UAE signed the comprehensive economic partnership agreement in October 2024, and His Excellency Luis Carlos Reyes Hernandez, Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism in Colombia, with which the UAE signed the comprehensive economic partnership agreement in April 2024.
His Excellency also held other meetings that dealt with the prospects for bilateral cooperation with a number of American countries, and Her Excellency Gabriela Garcia, Minister of Economy at Guatemala, His Excellency Felix Olua, Vice President of El Salvador, Gretchin Wittam, Governor of Michigan, USA, and Europe with His Excellency Erki Kaldo, Minister Economy and Industry in Estonia, and Africa with His Excellency Ismail Mufala Nabi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in Guinea.
His Excellency Al -Zyoudi said that these meetings are important in enhancing the position of the UAE as an important partner for economic development all over the world,
He added that the UAE has always believed that foreign trade and investment are two major engines for sustainable economic development, industrial productivity and knowledge exchange, noting that this week’s meetings highlighted the common desire of many countries to expand the benefits of trade and form corridors for growth between Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. In light of the fact that many areas of cooperation have been identified, and we look forward to continuing these talks in a way that contributes to achieving a prosperous and just future for all.
He stressed that the transformational force of emerging trends, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology and sustainability technologies, constituted a major axis of many discussions in the global summit of governments, with the aim of providing future governments with the vision and policies necessary to enhance their capabilities across various sectors.
In this context, His Excellency reviewed the efforts of the UAE to improve industrial innovation and efficiency with Roberto Viola, General Manager of the European Commission for Communication, Content and Technology Affairs, stressing the Emirati role in support of innovation during his meeting with executives of many private sector companies that are concerned with developing the auto industry with Chilpan Amin of General Motors International, social media and professional networks with Blake Linked from LinkedIn, semi -conductors and communications with Akash in Koomala from Qualcomm, quantum computing with Erfind Krishna from IBM, and energy management and automation with Jean Pascal Trikoar from Schneider Electric.
During the talks, His Excellency Dr. Al -Zyoudi praised their ideas and invited them to learn about the dynamic system of business in the UAE, including the rapid establishment of business, the organizational environment that supports growth, global communication and competitive tax policies.
