The Emirates Wrestling Federation launches its new strategy to spread and develop the game

Abu Dhabi, February 14/ WAM/ The Emirates Wrestling Federation announced its new strategy, which aims to raise the sport of wrestling locally and internationally, in order to inspire the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate the position of Emirati sport, enhance youth participation, and build a promising generation capable of competing in global forums.
This came during the press conference held today at the Rotana Hotel Yas Island, in the presence of Moza Al Ali, member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Wrestling Federation, Sultan Al -Ketbi, CEO and member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Nasser Khamis Al -Marri, Director of the Olympic Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Tariq Al -Bahri, General Manager of the International Vision for Sports Management.

He explained that the new strategy of the federation seeks to achieve a qualitative jump in wrestling through several main axes, most notably: the launch of competitive tournaments, including the Emirates Wrestling Federation Cup, scheduled for February 22 and 23 this year in the Arena Mubadala Hall in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 300 players from various clubs And academies in addition to expanding the base of community participation in clubs and schools, as the number of participating clubs increased from 5 clubs to 12 clubs, with a plan to reach 15 clubs by the end of the year, and the Federation aims to involve 10 schools in the first year, provided that the number witnesses a gradual increase in The coming years.

The Federation’s strategy also includes the development of training cadres by attracting a group of local and international trainers, and the launch of training programs and workshops according to international best practices, in addition to digital transformation through the application of the electronic registration system and the live broadcast of events, to enhance the mass interaction and develop this sport that has a community and Olympic presence .

As well as launching strategic partnerships with government and private agencies to support wrestling development plans and qualify players to compete in the Olympic Championships.

Moza Al Ali stressed that the announcement of the new strategy reflects the ambition of the federation in spreading and developing wrestling sport, with a focus on the youth category to make a strong generation capable of defending itself in a safe environment, noting that the Federation is working to form a national team to compete in the Olympics, from During construction of a strong foundation based on promoting participation in clubs and schools.

Sultan Al -Ketbi explained that the federation continues the digital transformation by providing an electronic registration system and a direct broadcast to follow up on the events, in a way that enhances the mass interaction with this sport, and pointed out that investing in the development of wrestlers will include training programs and specialized workshops under the supervision of a group of local and international experts, with the aim of raising The efficiency of players according to the highest international standards.

Al -Ketbi pointed out that the federation places its monument to the discovery and refinement of promising talents, stressing that the success of any sports federation depends on cooperation with clubs and academies, and that the federation is committed to enabling Emirati athletes.

Nasser Khamis Al -Marri, Director of the Olympic Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stressed that the council is happy in partnership with the Emirates Wrestling Federation and its support by organizing several championships and competitions, most notably the Emirates Federation of Wrestling Cup, which will be held in Arena’s exchange on February 22 and 23.

He pointed out that the strategic axes are an essential pillar in the success of any sports federation, stressing that the Emirates Wrestling Federation has an ambitious plan that will be the Abu Dhabi Sports Council as a key partner in its support, with the aim of consolidating the position of Abu Dhabi as a global sporting destination.

Tariq Al -Bahri stressed that the World Vision Company is proud to be one of the leading companies in organizing sports tournaments, as it organized more than 250 international sports championships, and stressed the strengthening of partnership with the Emirates Wrestling Federation with the aim of supporting, developing and discovering talents and enhancing its presence on the sports scene.

He explained that the company provides technical, administrative and logistical support to ensure the success of programs, competitions and tournaments, in line with the vision of the Emirates Wrestling Federation in developing this sport.

On the sidelines of the press conference, the two memoranda of understanding were signed between the Executive Director of the Emirates Wrestling Federation and Tariq Al -Bahri, Director General of the International Vision for Sports Management, in addition to a cooperation agreement between the Khorfakkan Wrestling Club, represented by Abdullah Zainal Abdullah, Director of Sports Games at the Club, and the Emirates Wrestling Federation, This is to enhance cooperation and development of sport infrastructure.
