المملكة: Riyadh .. “Education” announces the rehabilitation and afforestation of two schools in Al -Azizia neighborhood

The Ministry of Education, represented by the General Administration of Education in the Riyadh region, and in partnership with “Al -Riyadh Al -Khadra”, has completed the rehabilitation and afforestation work in two model schools in the Aziziyah neighborhood.
They witnessed the cultivation of more than 6 thousand trees and trees, which contributes to raising the scientific level of male and female students and improving the school environment.

Improving the school environment in Saudi Arabia

The Director General of Education in the Riyadh region, Prof. Dr. Nayef bin Abed Al -Zaraa, accompanied by Eng. Badr Al -Harthy, Director General of the General Administration of Security and Safety and Utilities at the Ministry of Education, and Eng. Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al -Muqbel, Executive Director of Al -Khadra, a tour of the two schools with the attendees, to see the completed works.
Rehabilitation work took place in the two schools and their improvement inside and outside the school courtyard and in the classroom in a typical manner, in addition to afforestation of external squares, the development of stadiums, external sessions, the waiting area in the entrances, parking lots and other rehabilitation work.
It is to improve the external appearance of school buildings using local materials consistent with the architectural character of the city of Riyadh, in addition to choosing the appropriate and appropriate trees for the city’s environment, which contributes to providing shadows and reducing the heat glow in the external squares and around the school perimeter.

“Green Riyadh” program

This step comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Education and “Green Riyadh” in improving and developing school facilities and afforestation in Riyadh, as these efforts were launched as a model that will be applied to the rest of the government schools for boys and girls.
It is noteworthy that the “Green Riyadh” program is one of the major Riyadh projects, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God support him – on the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him On the 12th of Rajab 1440 AH corresponding to March 19, 2019 AD.

Saudi Green Initiative

The program contributes greatly to achieving one of the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative and the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, which is the cultivation of 10 billion trees inside the Kingdom.
The program also aims to grow 7.5 million trees in the city of Riyadh, increase the vegetation to 9 % of the city’s area, raise the per capita share of the green area from 1.7 square meters to 28 square meters, and contribute to reducing the temperature and improving air quality by reducing pollution and dust.
