المملكة: The Royal Commission launches a map “Discover Mecca” to enhance visitors’ experience
The Royal Commission for the City of Makkah and the Holy Places, represented by the destination management office, launched a map “Discover Mecca”, as part of its efforts to enrich the experience of visitors and improve the quality of life in the holy capital.
The map highlights the most prominent historical, cultural, enrichment, entertainment and commercial sites in Mecca, while providing brief information that facilitates visitors and residents to identify these monuments and access them easily.
Major axes
This initiative comes within the framework of the authority’s strategy for historical and enrichment sites, which aims to achieve three main axes: (sustaining historical and enrichment sites, increasing social interaction, and promoting the local economy, in cooperation with various parties from the governmental and private sectors, and the third sector).
Eng. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al -Rashid, CEO of the Royal Commission for the city of Makkah Al -Mukarramah and the Holy Places, stressed that the development of the map represents a qualitative step towards achieving the sustainability of historical and enrichment sites, and enhancing the interaction of visitors with it, which contributes to converting it into knowledge, cultural and tourism destinations.

Various experiences
He also stressed that the authority is working to provide various experiences of added value, taking into account the privacy of Makkah Al -Mukarramah, to ensure improvement of visitors’ experience and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
Al -Rasheed pointed out that the destination management office has issued an interactive electronic version of the map, available on the “Discover Mecca” page on the official website of the Royal Commission, which provides an advanced digital experience that enables visitors to browse the sites easily, and benefit from updated data that contributes to improving their journey inside the capital Holy.
The Royal Commission continues to implement its development plans according to a comprehensive vision that enhances the efficiency of the infrastructure and elevates the quality of the services provided, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, to consolidate the position of Mecca as a global model in the hospitality sector and the guest experience.
