Partial satellite manufacturing in the UAE this year

Space 42 is partially manufacturing satellites in the Emirates this year, and then will start manufacturing them in 2026.

Hassan Al -Hosani, the CEO of Speed ​​Smart Solutions, said that Speus 42 signed a strategic partnership with the Finnish international company «Iceye» specialized in the field of radar satellite technology (SAR), with the aim of transferring technology and exchanging knowledge.

On the sidelines of the activities of the “IDEX 2025” exhibition, Al -Hosani indicated that the first two artificial satellites were manufactured in Finland with the participation of “Space 42”, but as of 2025 the following satellites will be partially manufactured in the Emirates, provided that the full manufacture of the last three moons is made Artificial in manufacturing facilities by 2026.

He stressed that these projects reflect the ambitious Emirates vision to be among the world’s leading countries in the space sector, pointing out that the development of local industrial capabilities enhances independence in this sector, and paves the way for creating advanced space solutions that meet the needs of the local and global markets.

He explained that two satellites were already launched, and they are now in the operating orbit, adding that the company presented during its participation in the current exhibition the first satellite image taken by one of these satellites for the city of Abu Dhabi.

He pointed out that the company is moving at an advanced pace on the schedule for the implementation of the project, where additional moons will be launched during the years 2025 and 2026, with the constellation completely completed by 2027, which enhances the UAE capabilities in the field of remote sensing, and provides accurate data to support the various sectors, including security Defense to urban planning and disaster management.

He pointed to the signing of a partnership with the company “Edge” to build a greater ability in local manufacturing and transfer knowledge and technology.
