المملكة: The Kingdom reviews efforts to protect the planet at the Digital Cooperation Organization meeting

The Kingdom participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the delegation of the Kingdom, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Ahmed Al -Suwaian, headed the Kingdom’s leading efforts in the era of artificial intelligence to empower man and protect the planet and form new horizons through technology and innovation.
In the opening session of the association, Al -Sweyan affirmed the Kingdom’s work to enhance a safe and comprehensive digital environment that supports innovation and economic growth, and harnessing technology to enhance comprehensive prosperity between the member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization.

A safe digital future

He pointed out that the organization continues its pioneering role in building a safe and innovative digital future, with a focus on converting economic and social capabilities into a tangible reality.
He explained that the transition to the era of artificial intelligence carries enormous opportunities, as this sector is expected to contribute more than 15 trillion dollars in the global economy during the next five years, indicating the accompanying dangers, especially with the escalation of the scale of misleading information and electronic crimes that may reach its annual cost of 10 Tryns, dollars, equivalent to the economies of 10 countries from the Group of Twenty.
He cited the UNICEF report, which stressed the importance of protecting individuals from harmful content via the Internet, stressing that protecting the digital future for future generations is a collective responsibility.

Reliable digital environment

He touched on the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to lead proactive steps to build a reliable digital environment, through the organization’s agenda 2025-2028, which focuses on enhancing cybersecurity, empowering individuals with basic digital skills, and supporting cooperative research between member states, stressing that totalitarianism is a basic pillar, especially in the field of artificial intelligence.
It highlights the Kingdom’s efforts and achievements within the leading IMPACT initiative, which contributed to enhancing international cooperation and pushing the digital transformation in public services through qualitative agreements between countries, noting that the initiative is not only a digital market, but also a platform for building strategic partnerships that support innovation.
