المملكة: Assigning the room committees to a comprehensive inventory of all “Saudi Green” initiatives

The National Center for the Development of Vegetable Cover and Combating Desertification directed the energy and climate change committees and the environmental committees in the chambers of commerce, with a task with a comprehensive inventory of all initiatives, programs and projects existing in the public, private and non -profit sector, which contribute to achieving the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative.

Determining work standards

In a letter addressed to the Union of Saudi Chambers, the National Center stressed the need for the aforementioned committees to include these initiatives, programs and projects to the “Saudi Green” umbrella, according to the approved criteria that guarantee the achievement of the desired sustainable environmental impact.

The Eastern Chamber, in turn, received a letter from the Federation of Saudi Chambers that the speech of the National Center for the Development of Plant Cover and the Combating Desertification, which includes a request to provide them with afforestation data from 2021 AD to date.
Accordingly, the Chamber urged specialists in relevant fields, including “agriculture, seed activities, nurseries, tree transplant services, vegetation management, and carbon credit management”, to cooperate with the center and provide the required data.

This guidance comes within the framework of the tireless endeavor to unify national efforts in the field of environmental sustainability, and to ensure the integration of various initiatives to achieve the maximum possible benefit, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious vision in the field of environmental protection and combating desertification.
The National Center for Cover Development and Combating Desertification aims to oversee the management and investment of the lands and investment of national parks, and to preserve plant genetic resources and vegetable covering, the areas of protected areas in the Kingdom in all its environments, and combating desertification.
