Launching a guide for research and development in the field of radiation prevention

The Radiation Prevention Committee in the UAE, which is chaired by the Federal Nuclear Supervision Authority, launched a guide entitled “Research and Development in the field of radiation prevention in the UAE”, which represents the first comprehensive program of its kind in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

The issuance of the guide is an important achievement regarding the state’s commitment to promoting radioactive safety, sustainability and innovation in nuclear science and technology, and radiation protection plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and responsible use of radiation across multiple sectors, including health care, energy and environmental protection.

The guide is designed to enhance the capabilities of the UAE, by dealing with research priorities such as medical applications and environmental protection, by studying the effect of radiation in environmental systems, and preparedness for emergency situations and responding to them, by developing innovative technologies and strategies, as the guide will support the safe operation of nuclear facilities, and enhance partnerships with academic circles in relation to research and development.
