“Ramadan” drinks .. varied in varieties and countries of origin … and growing up to 90% in demand

A field survey conducted by «Emirates Today» revealed on the main ports of retail trade in the local market that there are about 22 brands for Ramadan drinks, of all kinds.
The survey monitored the existence of a great diversity in the flavors and types of Ramadan drinks offered, with the variation of the countries of origin for these products, the most prominent of which are manufactured signs in the Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
Specialists in the retail sector stated that Ramadan drinks are products that are witnessing a high seasonal demand during the Holy Month, especially from the most famous products and a request for these drinks such as “jellab”, “Indian dates”, and a number of products manufactured from “berries”, pointing out that these drinks witness a growth in demand up to 90% during the month of Ramadan.

In detail, a field survey conducted by “Emirates Today” showed in the main sales outlets for retail trade in the local markets that there are about 22 brands of Ramadan drink products.
The survey monitored the availability of Ramadan drinks concentrated with various flavors, while the most common is the drink concentrated with fruit flavors, such as apricots from which a drink is made that is the most widespread and demanding between these drinks known as “Qamar al -Din”, as well as other famous drinks such as “Indian dates” and “jellab”, followed by concentrated drinks with berries, or berries with mixed fruits, and include different signs. The “Vimto” brand, along with products of orange flavors or mango, and other carob, or focused on berries, strawberries and “cola”.
The most prominent Ramadan drinks also include the flavors of watermelon flavors, lemon, pineapple, vanilla, berries, strawberries and pomegranate, in addition to a syrup of rose water and mint, and drinks with innovative flavors such as hazelnut or almond syrup, and a saffron concentrated drink.
Ramadan drinks are available across three types, including drinks that are taken directly, or concentrated drinks that are diluted with water when using, while sales ports are traced from other categories that come in the form of powder powder concentrated for juices that are prepared by adding water to it.
Special drinks
Field monitoring showed the availability of special Ramadan drinks that keep pace with different health needs for consumers, most notably fruit concentrated drinks, low sugar drinks, drinking drinks with natural honey, and others supported by additional vitamins. Drinks are also available for organic juices of different fruit varieties.
The survey showed a great diversity in the countries of origin supplied to Ramadan drink products, most notably the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Bahrain, Malaysia, Iran, Egypt, France, India and Pakistan.

“Ramadan drinks are a products that are witnessing a record rise linked to the Ramadan season,” said Muhammad Hussein, a sales official, Mohamed Hussein
He explained that «these products record sales growth at rates of up to 90%, compared to normal periods, especially since most of these products are required during the month of Ramadan, at great rates.
For his part, Patrick Bejoui, the director of purchases at one of the sales outlets, considered that “Ramadan drinks are one of the adornment of the outlets of the sales outlets during the month of Ramadan, as many stores are keen to decorate their shelves with Ramadan drink offers with the Ramadan season decorations that express the holy month.”
He continued: «One of the most prominent products and the most requested among Ramadan drinks: jellab, dates, Indian and moon of religion.
In the same context, the sales officer at one of the stores, Dilip Vermeind, said that Ramadan drinks are witnessing a great diversity and their products grow from year to year, especially since some products are only supplied to meet the high standard demand during the month of Ramadan, which ranges between 80 and 90%, compared to normal periods.
He pointed out that Ramadan drinks vary in a way that keeps pace with the requirements of various nationalities, as there are drinks that are famous for the request during the Ramadan season by consumers of Asian nationalities, and there are other drinks that witness a high demand by consumers of Arab nationalities.
Health benefits
Ramadan drinks are characterized by various health benefits, and the most prominent of these products is a jellab drink, which includes in its components of rose water, and one of the types of molasses, such as: dates or grape molasses. And for the doors when taking it at appropriate rates, health benefits, the most prominent of which is providing the body with different minerals and antioxidants, such as: magnesium, potassium, selenium, calcium, iron, manganese and copper.
In turn, the “Indian Dates” drink includes a number of vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamini (C) and (A), in addition to zinc, potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, which makes it from drinks that contribute to strengthening the immune system.
It also helps the “Indian dates” to improve digestion, as it is one of the natural “millions”, given its relatively high content of dietary fiber that contributes to reducing the level of fat in the blood. Also, the availability of potassium in its components may help control blood pressure, in addition to that it may help prevent anemia, due to the availability of large amounts of iron in it, which helps to produce the adequate amount of the body of red blood cells.
In turn, the “Qamar al -Din” drink includes several health benefits, as it depends in its manufacture on apricots, which helps to enhance the body’s immunity and prevent infections, while it contains anti -oxidant ingredients.
The “Qamar al -Din” drink contains a high percentage of minerals and vitamins, including vitamin A, vitamin B compound, in addition to vitamin C and potassium.
Among the Ramadan drinks are “carob”, which is famous for some consumers of Arab nationalities, and contains anti -oxidant and bacterial and antiseptic properties, and the carob cleans the lung and protects against cardiovascular diseases, by reducing the risk of cancer, as it is rich in calcium, and also benefits bone health.
