Sarah Buhijji is on the list of “Most Creative Personalities in the Business Sector” 2026

The CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Sarah Buhiji, was selected among the list of “Most Creative Personalities in the Business Sector” for the year 2026 issued by Fast Company Middle East magazine, which is a prestigious award that honors influential figures in the region who contribute to creating qualitative transformations in various sectors through creativity, innovation and effective leadership.
The award was presented to Sarah Buhiji during a ceremony held yesterday, in the Emirate of Dubai, in the presence of a group of the most prominent leaders, decision-makers and innovators from various parts of the Middle East, where she was honored in the “Challenging the Status Quo” category, which celebrates leaders with progressive visions who present new and innovative methods and leave a tangible impact and positive change in societies.
Sarah Buhiji assumed the position of CEO of the Authority in 2024, where she supports national efforts to develop the tourism system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, enhance international cooperation, and consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a vital destination for entertainment, culture, and business tourism. The Authority was established in 2015 to develop the Bahraini tourism sector, and also plays its role in organizing major events and initiatives that support sustainable economic growth.

Since assuming her position, Sarah Buhiji has introduced a group of ambitious initiatives that have supported the development of tourist destinations and expanded opportunities in the tourism sector within the authority’s jurisdiction. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, she plays a major role in enhancing the Kingdom’s ability to compete as a leading regional and international destination for hosting major events, conferences and exhibitions. In addition to her leadership role, Sarah Buhiji serves on the boards of directors of the Gulf Air Group, the Pune Al Dana Theater, and the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, which reflects her diverse contributions to driving the growth of various sectors and supporting the comprehensive national development process.
