Banking transfers in the Emirates rise 16% to 19.89 trillion during 2024

Abu Dhabi, March 13/ WAM/ Statistics of banking operations, issued today by the Central Bank, showed the increase in the value of transfers implemented in the banking sector in the country, through the UAEFTS/ UAEFTS/ UAEFTS/, by 15.9% during the year 2024 to reach 19,898 trillion dirhams compared to about 17,159 trillion dirhams during 2023.
The transfers implemented by banks increased by 13.3% to 12.491 trillion dirhams during 2024 compared to 11.018 trillion dirhams during 2023, while the transfers implemented by dealers increased by about 20% to exceed 7.4 trillion during 2024, compared to about 6.14 trillion dirhams during 2023.
On a monthly basis, the value of transfers during December of last year increased by about 1.878 trillion dirhams, compared to about 1.707 trillion dirhams during December 2023.
Regarding the circulating checks, the statistics of banking operations showed the value of the traded checks using their photos by about 5.66% to exceed 1.334 trillion dirhams during 2024 compared to 1.263 trillion dirhams during 2023.
The number of checks circulated during the past year was 22.59 million checks, compared to 22.12 million checks during 2023.
The value of the checks circulated during the month of December last year to 114.49 billion dirhams at 1.911 million checks, compared to about 109.4 billion dirhams at 1.844 million checks during December 2023.
According to the central data, the value of cash withdrawals from the central bank during 2024 reached 209.155 billion dirhams, while the value of its cash deposits amounted to 192.18 billion dirhams.
Meanwhile, bank indicators, issued by the central bank today, showed that bank investments increased by 15.8% during the year 2024 and by 100.5 billion dirhams to reach 735.6 billion dirhams distributed by 322.2 billion dirhams in debt bonds, 19.4 billion dirhams in stocks, 339.4 billion dirhams in bonds reserved until the date of eligibility, and 54.6 billion within other investments.
