Putin calls on the Ukrainian forces to “surrender” in the Russian Kursk region

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the besieged Ukrainian forces in the Russian Kursk region to “surrender”, after US President Donald Trump asked him to “preserve the life” of Ukrainian soldiers.
Last week, Russia launched a rapid counter -attack in this western border area, restoring large parts of Corsak, which Ukraine seized last August.
The defeat of the Ukrainian forces in Corsak was a severe blow to Kev in its endeavors to take advantage of its control over the region to negotiate peace talks with Moscow.
“We are sympathetic to President Trump’s call,” Putin said.
A day after talks about a truce in Ukraine with the American envoy, Putin said in televised comments, “If they threw their weapons and surrender, they will guarantee them life and generous treatment.”
Trump had said that “thousands” of Ukrainian soldiers “are fully encircled by the Russian army. They are in a fragile and bad situation.”
“I asked Vladimir Putin to urge to preserve their lives, otherwise an unprecedented, horrific massacre will take place since World War II.”
The Ukrainian military leadership denied what Trump announced, but President Vodimir Zellinski acknowledged that his forces were facing increasing pressure.
“Currently, there is no threat to besiege our units in the Kursk region,” said a statement to the General Staff on the social network.
But Zelinski confirmed on Friday in a statement to reporters, including reporters, to Agence France -Presse, that putting his soldiers in Kursk “very difficult.”
