His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, head of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, said in a statement to Emirates News Agency “WAM” that with the sunset and the announcement of breakfast, one of the most important customs of Ramadan in the Emirates and in Arab and Muslim societies is the family visits in which the bonds of kin Tarawih in the Ramadan councils that were in the past to be held in large homes or under the palm trees and developed today to become official and popular councils that combine wisdom and talk in various social and cultural affairs.
He added that the Ramadan table represents a heritage painting rich in traditional Emirati dishes, which has kept its original flavor over the years.
In every Emirati home, you find famous dishes such as mash, pneumatic, villas, and fur, along with the dates and Arab coffee, which remains a symbol of Emirati generosity.
Some families still maintain the habit of sending the “volatility” to the neighbors, which is a Chinese full of various Ramadan dishes, confirming the values of brotherhood and solidarity.
Through documentation and education programs, the Sharjah Heritage Institute works to highlight the importance of these heritage dishes and introduce new generations to their secrets and flavors that tell the stories of the past.
The Muslim pointed to the keenness of the people of the Emirates during Ramadan to recite the Holy Qur’an and seal it, whether in homes or mosques, and the homes of God witness an intense presence, especially in the Tarawih prayer and the prayer that fills the atmosphere with spirituality and reassurance, while the elderly from their part are keen to teach the youngsters to read the Qur’an in a scene that establishes the value of worship in the hearts of new generations.
He stressed that despite the modern developments, the Ramadan customs and traditions in the Emirates have been retaining its authentic essence, as some practices adapted to developments, but the essence of Ramadan remained based on the values of communication, generosity and spirituality.
Modern Ramadan councils, collective breakfast programs and charitable initiatives contributed to enhancing these values and making Ramadan suitable for heart meeting and renewing connections.
